Mark the Calendar - 'Our Priceless Past' Launch

Join Cr Matt Burnett, Mayor of Gladstone Region and guest speakers for the official exhibition launch of 'Our Priceless Past 2016'.  Featuring oral histories and memorabilia of ten local Special Seniors, the exhibition celebrates Seniors Week in Queensland (13 - 21 August 2016).

This year's presentation includes local stories written by Year 7 and Year 8 students of Discovery Christian College, Agnes Water. Accompanying the annual exhibition is the commemorative lift-out, published by the Gladstone Observer.

The official exhibition launch will be held from 1pm, Thursday 18 August 2016, with light refreshments served from 12 noon.

Nominated Special Seniors are over seventy years of age and have lived in the area for more than thirty years. Featured this year are stories about Evelyn Burn, Val Griffiths, Bruce & Helen Chapman, Kel & Margaret Pengelly, Robin Hunt, Roy & Val Jones and Ren Lanzon.

The exhibition is a Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum initiative, held in conjunction with The Gladstone Observer and Ergon Energy, and will be on display from 18 August until 1 October 2016.
