LIFESAVERS HONOURED IN NEW EXHIBITIONS

In conjunction with the Tannum Sands Surf Lifesaving Club, the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum will be celebrating the centenary of lifesaving in Australia and the 2007 Year of the Surf Lifesaver at the opening of two exciting new exhibitions on Wednesday 7 March at 6pm.

Reel Heroes - Safe Beaches displays 112 fine art prints paying homage to this Australian institution and Local Heroes explores over 70 years of contribution by Surf Lifesavers in our region through stories and memorabilia.

The exhibitions will be opened by Cr Peter Corones, Mayor of Gladstone, and Tannum Sands SLSC life member Mr Ken Pollock.

Celebrations will also include a special performance by the Tannum Sands SLSC Junior March-past Team.
