Get your movie cameras rolling in readiness for the Green Scenes: Environmental Short Film Festival.

The annual filmmaking competition is now open with entry forms available from the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, most Gladstone Regional Council venues and online to download from Gallery & Museum's website.

Each year, Green Scenes is held in conjunction with Gladstone Regional Council's annual Ecofest celebrations.

The competition is conducted by the Gladstone Arts Council Inc., a volunteer-run group and affiliate of Artslink Queensland.

Individuals and groups of all ages and experience are invited to enter Green Scenes and submit an environmentally themed short film.

Filmmakers are invited to create a 30 second high impact film reflecting the World Environment Day 2014 theme of "Raise Your Voice, Not the Sea Level".

Entry costs $5 with submissions to close at 4pm on Wednesday, May 28.

Prizes will be awarded in two categories. The winner of the Ultimate Film Award will receive a 16GB iPad Mini and the winner of the Supreme Filmmakers Award will receive a professional development session with a local film production artist.

All films will be exclusively shown at Ecofest on Sunday, June 1, in the Gladstone Region's Tondoon Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre Gallery.

Winners will be announced in the Elders Greenhouse Tent at 1pm on the day.

Entries can be delivered to Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, corner Goondoon & Bramston Streets, Gladstone, or can be sent to Gladstone Arts Council Inc., PO Box 775, Gladstone QLD 4680.

For further information phone Gladstone Arts Council Inc. treasurer Maddie Cook on 4976 6766.
