Celebrate Monday with a Double Exhibition Launch - July 25

Fresh to the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum are two exciting exhibitions, 'The Picture Book Art of Gregg Dreise, Dave Hackett and Lucia Masciullo', and 'The Gas Imaginary: Broken norms, unconventional extraction, drawings and other collaborative acts'.  All are invited to celebrate the official launch of both exhibitions 6pm, this Monday 25 July 2016.

'The Picture Book Art' exhibition is a playful and imaginative display featuring original illustrations from popular children's book author/illustrators, Gregg Dreise, Dave Hackett and Lucia Masciullo.  As a special treat for excited young fans, the three artists will be attending the official launch on Monday evening.  The exhibition runs in conjunction with the 2016 Curtis Coast Literary Carnivale (CCLC), held July 24 - 27.

'The Gas Imaginary' is an exhibition by artist and writer, Rachel O’Reilly, on gas extraction methods.  Delivered through two series of drawings from an ongoing project, the artist's interpretations are conveyed through humorous and stylised topography sketches. This is the first exhibition by O’Reilly in her hometown of Gladstone, and has been produced in collaboration with PA/LA/CE Architects (Ben Reynolds and Valle Medina) and artist, Rodrigo Hernandez.

If you would like to attend Monday night's FREE double exhibition launch, RSVP to Gallery & Museum on 4976 6766 or email gragm@gladstonerc.qld.gov.au.  Both exhibitions remain on display until 13 August 2016.  The Gallery & Museum is open 10am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
