Winners of the 2014 Celebrate Australia Primary School Art Competition were announced during Gladstone Regional Council's Australia Day celebrations at the Gladstone Marina Parklands.

And the winners are:
Section One: Prep to Year 3
First Prize: Christmas Time by Sophie Lennon
Second Prize: The Rare Koala by Jaydah Soutar
Third Prize: With my Mum at the Beach by Scarlett Guyver-Treanor
Highly Commended: Australia Animals by Amber Kain
       Flood Rescue by Mason Neill-Ballantine
       Animals in Australia by Matilda Needle
      Reef Fish by Issac Scriffignano

Section Two: Year 4 to Year 7
First Prize: Ned Kelly (Sidney Nolan style)by Ricky Handford
Second Prize: Rolling Hills by Emily Hiscox
Third Prize: Reef Messenger by Georgia Hornsey
Highly Commended: Sunset of the Twelve Apostles by Steven William Gaston
    The Beauty of Australia by Amy Giles
   Airborne by Isabella Little
  Bushfire by Bella Wellsteed
 
All 286 submissions are on display at the Mezzanine Floor, Leo Zussino Building, CQUniversity Gladstone Campus until Thursday February 6, providing a fantastic opportunity for all to celebrate what's great about the place in which we live, through the creative ideas of the young artists and their colourful works.

The CQUniversity is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, Bryan Jordan Dr, Gladstone and the exhibition admission is free.

The exhibtion of entries will continue at the Gallery & Museum 7 February 2014 to 15 March 2014 and at the Tondoon Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre Gallery 1 - 27 April 2014.
