Some great news received from colleagues at the annual 1770 Art Show.

Large Canvas School Project 2016

The 1770 Art Show is pleased to announce the participating schools in the 2016 Large Canvas School Project (LCSP).

The LCSP was instigated two years ago with a total of four participating schools in 2014, six in 2015 and now eight local schools for the 2016 art show. All schools are within a 100km radius of Agnes Water. The LCSP provides many children with their first experience of visiting a gallery-style display and exhibition. This project has been a great success in actively involving the local schools with the 1770 Art Show

This year the participating schools are:

  • Agnes Water State School
  • Discovery Coast Christian College
  • Miriam Vale State School
  • Rosedale State School
  • Lowmead State School
  • Bororen State School
  • Benaraby State School
  • Wartburg State School

Each school is presented with a large canvas to use to create a work of art within a given theme. The theme for 2016 is “The Reef”.

Canvases from participating school are displayed at the 1770 Art Show, and while it is not a competition, a gift is presented to each school in recognition of their participation.

International Outreach

This year the 1770 Art Show has invited an international school to participate, adding a new and exciting dimension to the LCSP. The international school, located in Pandaan Pasuruan, East Java, has an existing relationship with the Agnes Water State School's Language Other Than English (LOTE) program. We eagerly look forward to their entry in this year’s show.

The LCSP is is made possible through the generosity of dedicated sponsors. The 1770 Art Show would like to thank Lady E’s Quilts and Crafts, Mr. Josef Konrad and ArtPlus Bundaberg for their support of the 2016 project.

The 1770 Art Show would like to expand the LCSP to include other international schools, with an aim to partner these schools with our regional schools.

If you wish to contribute to this innovative project, please contact the 1770 Art Show for more information on 0411 126701.
