When Mareika Holmes (Chauntler) a Gladstone local and mother of two was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 she felt compelled to share her story to support others facing a similar challenge. The result is this exhibition and documentary "Goddess Mareika". This creative project has come together through the generous support from numerous local artists. The exhibition explores her emotional, physical and spiritual journey from cancer diagnosis to mastectomy and beyond. On reflection Mareika acknowledges that this project/process has been a major contributor to her own emotional healing.
