2018 Celebrate Australia Primary School Art Competition


A presentation of the 12th annual Celebrate Australia Primary School Art Competition entries.

This competition encourages Gladstone Region students to think about an aspect of Australia they believe is really important to them and put their creativity to work using pen, paint, collage or other media on A4 paper.

Winners announced during Gladstone Regional Council's Australia Day celebrations, Friday 26 January 2018.

It is a colourful and imaginative display of paintings, drawings and collages celebrating 'who and what make Australia great'. This touring exhibition can be seen at the following venues on the following dates:

  • 9 to 31 January 2018 - CQUniversity, Gladstone Marina Campus
  • 2 to 28 February 2018 - Visitors Centre Gallery, Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens
  • 1 to 31 March 2018 - Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum
  • 4 April to 31 May 2018 - Boyne Tannum Community Centre

A digital exhibition of entries can be viewed at selected Gladstone Regional Council offices, venues and libraries throughout January to April 2018.

To assist budding artists with their entries, local artist Marion Hughes will conduct three FREE workshops across the Gladstone Region.

Each workshop will be held from 10.30am to 12pm at the following venues:

  • Monday, 11 December 2017, Baffle Creek Community Centre
  • Tuesday, 12 December 2017, Mt Larcom Hall
  • Wednesday, 13 December 2017, Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum
