An exhibition of life-size figurative busts by leading Chinese-Australian artist Ah Xian, from the Collection of the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA), will be on display at Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum until Saturday 8 June 2013. 

‘Ah Xian: Metaphysica’ presents ten magnificent bronze and brass works from the Metaphysica series, begun by the artist in 2007.

The touring exhibition of the prestigious 2012 Queensland Regional Art Awards, ‘The Essential Character of Queensland’, will be at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum until Saturday 4 May 2013.

Celebrating World Environment Day (5 June 2013), the Gladstone Arts Council presents Green Scenes, an environmental short film competition for budding and professional filmmakers. 

The call for entries goes out to the public to create, (using current content,) a 30 second high impact film reflecting World Environment Day 2013's theme, Think. Eat. Save.

The old Town Hall was reopened as the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum at Easter time 1985.  The team has been busy ever since bringing exhibitions to the region for the last twenty-eight years.

It has seen many staff members come and go in that time but has always maintained a strong female workforce.  2012 was a special year as for only the second time a man joined the team.  Harry
