Our Mission                                                                                                                                      

Our mission for the Gladstone Museums & Galleries Network is to strengthen ties between arts, culture and heritage organisations within the Gladstone region.  This network group aims to foster growth and development between organisations by exchanging ideas through networking, resources and expertise in a collaborative approach to promote our organisations.  Together we can assist each other to increase visitorship, engagement, revenue, and working collaboration. 

This network group aims to improve regional inclusiveness, collaboration, diversity and shared experiences between cultural institutions, and provide an outlet to speak with a common voice about issues concerning our sector.  This group is open to all arts, culture, historical societies, museums, gallery workers & volunteers within the Gladstone region, no matter what age, position or years of experience you have within your institution.

So, if you’re aiming to work towards improving the professionalism of your cultural institution and wanting the collegial support of an advocacy group like the Gladstone Museums & Galleries Network, we welcome groups and individuals who support the arts, culture, and heritage within the Gladstone region to join us today. 

Aims

• To foster growth and development between organisations by exchanging ideas through networking, and resources and expertise sharing
• Provide and/or support opportunities that enhance the creative and professional development of local artists, artisans and arts workers
• Establishing and develop a plan to help foster and support cultural leadership in regional areas
• Help support the effective governance and management of local arts and cultural organisations
• Support & provide initiatives that foster improved governance and organisational management
• And include groups working within the arts/culture/museums & galleries, and historical society sectors

Network Meeting Occurrences                                                                                                                   

The Gladstone Museums & Galleries Network will hold networking meetings every quarter (February, May, August, & November) in different venues around the region.
